Blind Cat Video
is a little, baby production company I started because people wanted me to produce some stuff outside my normal arena, ham radio videos.
Check out my demo/contact page.

I needed  a name, and I picked one that had been floating around in my head for a while. The blind cat – the one in the logo –  is Maui Mouse
, one of our cats. Well, officially just Maui, named after my wife Cyndi's favorite Hawaiian Island. Mouse because she looks a little like a mouse. The cat, not my wife. And maybe not so much in that logo picture, where she's looking very cat-like.

I like the mild irony of a video company named after a blind cat. But, blind from birth, she sees just fine, and she's smart as a whip.

Our first project, for SAFE Haven for Cats, Raleigh, NC

I shoot with a Sony PD-170 3-chip DVCam camera in standard definition. I'm thinking High-Def sometime this year (2009). I've got a pair of TRAM lav mics with Sennheiser wireless bodypacks, and an EV-20 hand mic with wireless. That and a very basic set of lights is the shooting package for one-man-band operation.

I edit on Adobe Premiere (CS3 as I type). I prefer narrative, documentary style video over whiz-bang. I narrate my own stuff (and I've done some professional voice-over), and I'm willing to step in front of the camera a little for my productions.

I'm based in Cary, North Carolina. Contact info is here.
